We would like to focus on female startup founders, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8.
There is every indication that female founders successfully build and lead startups, and that diversity brings countless advantages – but in fact there are still far too few female founders.
We at OCCIDENT would like to encourage all women to take the plunge – not only has OCCIDENT been successfully led by a female CEO for many years, but also seven of our portfolio companies were founded or co-founded by women and are successfully headed by them.
Unfortunately, it is still the case that more is expected of female founders than of male ones, and that as a woman you have to do more convincing. So let’s all work to bring more diversity into the startup world and take the opportunity to benefit from each individual’s qualifications and skills!
